Title: “Redemption Through His Broken Body.
Scripture:
In the words of John 15:5, Jesus declares, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
On the night of betrayal, meticulously chronicled by all the gospels, a profound narrative unfolds. While the Synoptic gospels delve into the Communion shared between Jesus and His disciples, John illuminates crucial teachings spanning from the 13th to the 16th chapter—a night of spiritual depth and significance.
During the earlier Communion that night, Paul, through divine revelation, sheds light on a pivotal moment: “the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:23-24). Jesus beckons His disciples to partake in His broken body, symbolizing the bread of life, promising eternal existence to those who partake (John 6:51).
Following this sacred act, Jesus proclaims, “I am the vine, ye are the branches…” (John 15:5), revealing a transformative relationship established through the sharing of His body and blood. It goes beyond religious rhetoric; it signifies a glorious communion.
On that night, a new connection blossoms, leading Jesus to the cross on their behalf. The revelation resonates today: there is no need for brokenness.
Whether it be sickness, disease, or affliction, the broken body of Jesus serves as a remedy. Feeling symptoms? Recall His words: “…this do in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:24). As you partake in Communion, declare, “I haven’t forgotten His body was broken for me. I refuse to be sick! I proclaim divine health.” Hallelujah!
Prayer:
Gratitude fills my heart, heavenly Father, for your boundless love in sending Jesus as the propitiation for my sin. Through His broken body, I am free from sickness, disease, and affliction. Guided by your Word and Spirit, I walk in health, strength, and victory, bearing much fruit to bring glory to your Name. Amen.
