Title: “Commissioned for Purpose
strong>Scripture Reading: Romans 10:14-15 (NIV) – “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'”
Message:
In a world hungering for hope and searching for truth, the call to preach the gospel is not merely a suggestion but a divine imperative. In this devotional, titled “Commissioned for Purpose,” we’ll explore the necessity and privilege of sharing the Good News with a lost and hurting world.
Reflect on the words of Romans 10:14-15, which highlight the interconnectedness of belief, hearing, and preaching. How can individuals come to faith if they have not heard the gospel proclaimed? And how can they hear unless someone is willing to preach to them? Let this truth stir a sense of urgency within your heart to share the message of salvation with others.
Consider the weight of the commission laid upon believers to preach the gospel. We are not called to be silent bystanders but active participants in God’s redemptive plan for humanity. Each one of us has been uniquely equipped and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be ambassadors of Christ, carrying the message of reconciliation to the ends of the earth.
View the opportunity to preach the gospel as a sacred privilege rather than a burden. As carriers of the Good News, we have the incredible honor of being instruments in God’s hands, bringing light into darkness and hope to the hopeless. Let us approach this calling with humility, boldness, and a deep sense of gratitude for the grace that has been bestowed upon us.
Despite the challenges and obstacles we may face, let us persevere in faithfulness to the task set before us. Trust in the promise of Isaiah 55:11, which declares that God’s word will not return to Him empty but will accomplish what He desires and achieve the purpose for which He sent it. Let us sow the seeds of the gospel with faith and confidence, knowing that God will bring forth a harvest in His perfect timing.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for entrusting us with the privilege and responsibility of preaching the gospel. Give us the courage, wisdom, and compassion to boldly proclaim the Good News to those who have not yet heard. May we be faithful stewards of the message of salvation, knowing that it is a necessity laid upon us by your divine commission. Use us, Lord, to bring hope, healing, and transformation to a world in desperate need of your love. In Jesus’ name, amen.
