Topic: You Were Bought With A Price!

Scripture : For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s (1 Corinthians 6:20).
When attempting to convey the idea of salvation, some people would use the analogy of a guy who is drowning and is saved by someone dragging him out to safety with a lifeline. That is an inaccurate portrayal of the salvation that Jesus brought.
The man had been sentenced to death by drowning for his mistake, would make a greater example. He was ready to be tossed into the wild sea after being chained and gagged. Jesus then appears and commands, “Don’t kill him; I’ll take his place and drown in his stead.” Jesus didn’t simply throw him a lifeline, dispatch rescue divers, or swim through the perilous waters to pull him to safety.
Jesus didn’t simply throw him a lifeline, dispatch rescue divers, or swim through the perilous waters to pull him to safety. No, He substituted for him and drowned (died) in his place.

The way to view the salvation that Christ purchased for us with His own blood is as stated above. Therefore, when you refer to Jesus as saving you, you are not referring to someone who delivered you from a difficult situation. No, He gave His life in order to save you.
The salvation we enjoy in Christ is a serious matter; by sacrificing Himself in our place, Jesus paid a heavy price to set us free. Due to the fact that you have been “bought,” you are no longer able to live life as you like. He now owns you, not the other way around.
The Bible says you’re not your own (1 Corinthians 6:19). If you’re born again, you’ve been bought with a price and now you ought to live for the Lord, and follow His choices for you.

Dear Father, I thank you for the complete salvation I have in Christ Jesus; thank you for sending Him to take my place. I recognize today that I’m no longer my own; I belong to Christ. Thus, I know my life is blessed and my future is guaranteed, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
