🔥 Today’s Focus:

By Mercy, Not Merit

📖 Scripture Reading:
Romans 9:15–16
Titus 3:4–7
Ephesians 2:8–9

📌 Key Verse:
“So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.”Romans 9:16 (NKJV)

There is a temptation in every human heart to believe that we must earn God’s love — to think that our goodness, our works, or our efforts qualify us for His blessings. But Scripture makes it clear: it is not by merit, but by mercy.

Mercy is God reaching down when we had no strength to reach up. It is God choosing us, not because we are worthy, but because He is good. When we understand this truth, it humbles us and frees us. We stop striving to earn favor and start living from the place of already being loved.

Think of the prodigal son. He came home rehearsing a speech of merit: “I am no longer worthy…” But the father ran toward him, not because of his effort or confession, but because of mercy. That same mercy is what God shows to us every day — not giving us what we deserve, but giving us what Jesus deserves.

💭 Reflection:

Are you living as if you have to earn God’s acceptance? Have you allowed His mercy to fully embrace your identity and purpose?

Live It Out:

Today, take a moment to thank God not for what you’ve achieved, but for what He has freely given. Let His mercy fuel your worship, your obedience, and your love toward others.

🗣️ Declaration:

I am not saved by my merit, but by God’s mercy. I receive His love, His grace, and His favor—not because I deserve them, but because He is rich in mercy!

📖 Memory Verse:

“But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us…”Titus 3:4–5 (NKJV)
