Title : Dominion Over the Devil

Scripture: “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” – Luke 10:19 (KJV)

 Message

In the journey of faith, it is crucial to recognize the authority and power we have been given through Jesus Christ. Many believers live in fear and uncertainty, not fully aware of the dominion they possess over the forces of darkness. The good news is that Jesus has already secured victory for us, and we are called to walk in that authority.

Luke 10:19 is a powerful reminder that we have been given the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, which symbolize the power of the enemy. This verse assures us that we are equipped to overcome any demonic force that comes against us.

 Understanding Your Authority

1. Christ’s Victory: Jesus defeated Satan and his minions through His death and resurrection. Colossians 2:15 (NIV) says, “And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” This victory is not just Christ’s but also ours through Him.

2. Our Position in Christ: As believers, we are seated with Christ in heavenly places. Ephesians 2:6 (NIV) states, “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.” This position signifies authority over all principalities and powers.

3. Power in His Name: The name of Jesus carries immense power. Philippians 2:9-10 (NIV) declares, “Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.” When we invoke His name, we activate the authority He has given us.

 Exercising Your Authority

1. Stand Firm in Faith: James 4:7 (NIV) instructs, “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Standing firm in your faith means trusting God’s promises and relying on His strength, not your own.

2. Pray with Authority: Speak boldly in prayer, declaring God’s Word over your life and situations. Mark 11:23 (NIV) says, “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”

3. Live in Righteousness: Ephesians 6:11 (NIV) advises, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Living a righteous life protects you from the enemy’s attacks and strengthens your spiritual defenses.

 Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the victory You have given us through Jesus Christ. Help me to fully understand and walk in the authority I have over the enemy. Strengthen my faith to stand firm, and teach me to pray with boldness and confidence. Cover me with Your righteousness and guide me daily by Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
