Title: Increasing in Faith.
Message:
In a world where scarcity and limitation often dominate our thinking, God invites us to embrace a different reality—a reality of increase and abundance found in Him. This devotional explores the transformative power of faith and the promise of increase that God offers to His children.
Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV) “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
Reflection: The concept of increase is woven throughout Scripture, reflecting God’s desire for His people to experience abundance in every area of life. In 2 Corinthians 9:8, we are reminded of God’s ability to bless us abundantly, providing for all our needs and enabling us to abound in every good work.
As followers of Christ, our faith plays a pivotal role in experiencing God’s increase. Jesus Himself emphasized the importance of faith when He said, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20, NIV). Our faith has the power to move mountains and unlock God’s abundant provision in our lives.
Consider the story of the widow of Zarephath in 1 Kings 17:8-16. In the midst of a severe famine, Elijah was sent by God to a widow who had only a handful of flour and a little oil left. Despite her dire circumstances, the widow demonstrated remarkable faith by obeying Elijah’s instructions to make him a meal first. As a result of her obedience and faith, God miraculously multiplied her meager resources, providing an abundance that sustained her household throughout the famine.
In the same way, God invites us to step out in faith and trust Him to increase what we have, no matter how small or inadequate it may seem. When we surrender our limited resources to Him, He has the power to multiply them beyond our imagination, enabling us to abound in every good work and fulfill His purposes for our lives.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your promise of increase and abundance in every area of life. Help me to cultivate a faith that trusts in your provision, even when circumstances seem bleak. Strengthen my faith, Lord, and empower me to step out boldly, knowing that you are able to bless me abundantly and enable me to abound in every good work. In Jesus’ name, amen.
