Title: God, Our Strong Tower
Scripture:
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” — Proverbs 18:10 (NIV)
Message:
Life often presents us with challenges, difficulties, and uncertainties that can shake us to the core. In these moments, we need a place of refuge, a source of strength that never fails. The Bible assures us that God is that place — a strong tower, a fortress of protection and safety for those who trust in Him.
The image of a “strong tower” in Proverbs 18:10 symbolizes security, protection, and strength. In ancient times, people would flee to fortified towers during times of war or danger because these structures were built to withstand attacks. Similarly, God is our refuge in the storms of life. His name carries power, authority, and defense for His people.
To “run to” the Lord means to trust Him completely, to seek His presence in times of need, and to rest in His ability to protect and deliver. It is an act of faith. Just as a tower provides a vantage point and safety from enemies, so does our relationship with God elevate us above life’s challenges. When we run to Him, we place ourselves under His care and protection, confident that no weapon formed against us will prosper.
The beauty of this promise is that it applies to “the righteous.” Who are the righteous? They are those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ, clothed in His righteousness, and walk in obedience to His Word. The Lord promises to be a strong tower for all who belong to Him. This is not just physical safety, but spiritual, emotional, and mental security.
Are you facing a battle today? Do you feel overwhelmed by the trials of life? Remember, you have a strong tower in God. He is unshakable, unmovable, and His power never diminishes. In His presence, you find peace, safety, and the assurance that He is working all things together for your good.
Run to God in prayer. Declare His name over your circumstances, and trust in His protection. Whatever storms you face, know that you are safe in the shelter of the Almighty. He will guide you, sustain you, and lead you to victory.
Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for being my strong tower, my refuge, and my safe place. When life feels overwhelming, help me to run to You and trust in Your strength and protection. I declare that no matter what I face, I am safe in Your hands. You are my fortress, and I rest in Your unshakable love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
