Topic: The Real Fight
Scripture: Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12).
Message
Few people are aware of what it means to fight—and I don’t mean in a physical sense; I mean the spiritual battle we face. The struggle of faith is the conflict between our spiritual reality and our temporary, earthly conditions. Our faith must be unleashed on the turbulent conditions of the present in order to force adjustments that are consistent with our obstinate religious declarations. It’s not a battle with the devil; it’s a battle inside of you against the difficulties you encounter in life. It’s a battle you must prevail in.
The Apostle Paul refers to it as a “good fight” because you come out on top and you prevail. He urges you to stand on to God’s Word and uphold your confessions in the face of overwhelming adversity when he advises you to “fight the good fight.” There is an enemy at work, trying to prevent everything from coming together for you. The entire world is hostile to your faith and the reign of God. Be of good cheer, though; I have overcome the world, Jesus stated (John 16:33), and since He did, you must maintain the world’s position by maintaining your faith. The true struggle is there.
You’re not attempting to conquer the world; He has already done that. As a result, you move on by faith in the victory that Christ secured for you. He declared, “See, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, as well as over all the power of the enemy.” (Luke 10:19). You are victorious no matter where you are; you are certain of this and insist on it.
What other people seem impossible, you can accomplish. Regardless of the situation you find yourself in, whether it concerns your health, income, business, job, family, or academics, you declare, “I’m a victor in the Name of Jesus! I’ll never be able to fail. I solely focus on winning in Jesus’ name, and that’s all I think about.
Walk with the boldness of the Spirit and in the power and majesty of Christ. Use His grace and His might to your advantage as you unleash your faith against oppositional circumstances and force them to agree with your obstinate faith declarations.
PRAYER:
I am steadfast in the Lord and in the greatness of His power as I walk in His strength and majesty. I am blessed by His love, His audacity, and His triumph. I put up a good fight of faith to remain rooted in, assured in, and fixed on God’s Word. Today, I successfully overcome my difficulties by speaking the Word and ruling and reigning in the might of the Holy Spirit!
