Topic: Without Sin And Death
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2 NKJV).
Message:
When reading today’s theme verse, one might initially interpret it as referring to the law of “sin and death” as a single entity. However, the true message from the Spirit is different. It actually distinguishes between the law of sin on one hand and death on the other. To clarify this, we can rearrange the words, and the verse would read: “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from ‘death’ and ‘the law of sin'” (Romans 8:2). This rearrangement makes it clear that it’s not about “the law of sin and death” but rather about “the law (or principle) of sin” and “death” separately.
Consequently, just as the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus sets you free from sin, it also makes you free from death! Hallelujah! This law of life is also referred to as the law of liberty in James 1:25 and James 2:12. According to John, having the Son means having life, and the absence of the Son means not having life (1 John 5:12-13). This eternal life is found in the Son, and since you possess it, you shouldn’t struggle with sin, sickness, disease, infirmities, or death.
Consider this: Moses lived to be 120 years old, yet his eyes were not dim, and his strength remained (Deuteronomy 34:7). Despite living under the Old Covenant, he had a consciousness of life, understanding that the Word of God invigorates and brings life (Deuteronomy 32:46-47). Likewise, adopt the same mindset because when you were born again, you transitioned from death to life and from sin to righteousness. Hallelujah!
CONFESSION:
I have been translated from the realm of death into the realm of life! There is no death or darkness in my path; the God-life is inherent in me. Consequently, I refuse to entertain anything that belongs to darkness, for I live by the law of the Spirit of life, and in that realm, only life prevails. Hallelujah!
FURTHER STUDY:
John 5:24 (KJV) 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
1 John 5:11-13 (KJV) 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
