Topic: Christ’s Residence in You

Message:

“Christ in you” refers to everything that is in the character, personality, potency of Christ’s glory, and graces embodied in you. And the Holy Spirit accomplishes this. In John 14:23, Jesus says, “…If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” This occurred prior to His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension into heaven. “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,” he declared in John 14:16-17. You know him because he lives with you and will be in you.”
He fulfilled His word, and on Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended and indwelt the disciples. We’ve become His living temple today, having been reborn; He’s made His home in us. In the Old Testament, the prophets and even the angels were perplexed as to how God might create His home in men’s hearts.

But that was always God’s desire; in Proverbs 8:31, He said, “…my delights were with the sons of men.” The Spirit eventually moves Paul to write and reveal this enigma, as stated in our theme text. So, when we say, “Christ in you,” we mean the character, beauty, glory, power, and righteousness of God wrapped in a man.

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith,” Ephesians 3:17 declares. Because the word “dwell” means “settle,” you are one in whom Christ has dwelt. By trust, He has built His home in your heart; there is a blending; a oneness of soul. His own life, His very personality, and the attributes of His splendor are all in you today. His Name be exalted eternally

PRAYER

Thank you, Lord, for making your home in the quarters of my heart. You sanctified me and made me your living tabernacle, residing in and expressing through me your own life—the very quality of your personality and the attributes of your glory. What a lovely truth; I will be eternally grateful. “That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith,” Ephesians 3:17 declares. Because the word “dwell” means “settle,” you are one in whom Christ has dwelt. By trust, He has built His home in your heart; there is a blending; a oneness of soul. John 14:16-17 AMPC: And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever— 17 The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17: Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are.
