Topic: DON’T BELIEVE THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal
2 Corinthians 4:17-18
Message:
Strong faith is distinguished by the fact that it disregards the outer appearance of things and does not examine physical situations. Even though Jesus had earlier stated that Lazarus’ sickness would not result in death (John 11:4), He refused to consider the reality that Lazarus was dead. The fact that the man died and was buried for four days made no difference to Jesus because His trust was concentrated on His spoken Word. He knew the Father had heard His words of faith.
Now, notice what the Master did: He summoned Lazarus from the dead, just as you would summon someone sleeping in the room next to you. That is the essence of faith. There is no such thing as a bleak or impossible circumstance when you have faith. Nothing is out of the question since anything is possible! You don’t give up in the spiritual arena.
When men base their decisions and views on sensory evidence, they give up. For example, the natural man’s senses have been conditioned to say, “I have stomach pain,” just because he had pain in his stomach. He’s been taught to perceive fear and declare, “I’m scared,” and to recognize lack and say, “I’m broke.” Faith, on the other hand, speaks in accordance with God’s Word. So, you could say, I have headaches, but I am healed. You must prioritize your health and healing. Never let your emotions to govern you or your life’s circumstances. What you feel should not be allowed to rule or dictate what you have or are in the Word.
It doesn’t matter what you see, hear, or feel; it doesn’t matter how terrible or impossible things appear in the natural; keep declaring the Word! Your faith-filled words produce outcomes. As a result, refuse to analyze situations or acknowledge impossibilities.
